Aura Zelco is excited to start her master thesis project at CBU as an Erasmus trainee. Aura is a MSc Bioinformatics student at Lund University (Sweden) and will work under the supervision of CBU group leader Anagha Madhusudan Joshi-Michoel. In her project, she will characterize sex-specific differences in brain at a single cell level using several public datasets, with a focus on human data from the gestational and neonatal period. The ultimate aim is to evaluate whether there is a connection between brain development and biological sex. The results may lead to new insights for neurodevelopmental disorders which show differences among the sexes regarding symptoms, occurrence, prognosis, etc.
